On the morning of June 30th, the 1st General Assembly and 1st Council meeting of the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (hereinafter referred to as "Association") was jointly initiated and established by China Society of Automotive Engineering, Faurecia Group, Sinopec, SAIC, Hyundai Motor, Toyota Motor and Anglo American. It was successfully held in China Science and Technology Hall by means of "online + offline".

Mr. Wan Gang, President of China Association for Science and Technology, Mr. Luo Hui, member of Party Committee of China Association for Science and Technology and Minister of International Cooperation Department, and many sponsors from home and abroad attended the conference. The conference was presided over by Mr. Ouyang Minggao, President of International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Deputy Director of Academic Committee of Tsinghua University.

Chairman Wan Gang pointed out that China attaches great importance to scientific and technological innovation and industrial development in the field of hydrogen energy, has formed a "three vertical and three horizontal" research and development layout of new energy vehicles, built an innovation system with enterprises as the main body, in-depth integration of industry, education and research, and integrated development of large and medium sized commercial vehicles, has become the world's largest market for fuel cell commercial vehicles. During the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Beijing, the "Science and Technology Winter Olympics" supported the safe and reliable operation of 1,200 fuel cell vehicles in the harsh winter environment with photovoltaic and wind power hydrogen production, showing an international image.

President Wan stressed that the development of hydrogen energy has become a common strategic choice for all countries to achieve the goal of "carbon neutrality". The establishment of the association is timely, with a clear mission and a promising prospect. It will provide an important support platform for coordinating the superior resources of the global industry, deepening the exchanges and cooperation in multiple fields and levels, and promoting the high-quality development of the industry. At this meeting, the Constitution of the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association and the Membership Fee Standard and Operation Management Method of the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association were reviewed and approved. The first president, vice president and secretary general of the association were elected, and the honorary president was nominated.
